Who is Brent House?
Brent House has a diverse community, including a full-time chaplain and an involved group of students.

What happens on Sunday?
We have Eucharist every Sunday that school is in session, followed by a free home-cooked dinner. You can read more about what to expect here.

Where are you?
We’re at 5540 S. Woodlawn Avenue, check out directions or skip straight to the campus map.

Yes! We always have food. Would you like to cook? You can always help out by signing up here. While we occasionally serve meat, we always have food for vegetarians.

Do I have to be Christian to come to services?
No. Anyone is welcome, whether you are Christian, belong to another religious tradition, or have no religious tradition at all.

Do I have to be an Episcopalian to receive communion?
We believe that the altar is the Lord’s table and not our own and  that Christ is present in the sacraments. The official policy of the Episcopal Church is that all baptized Christians may receive communion—but all are invited to participate in our services and to receive a blessing at communion, if they so choose.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with Stacy, our chaplain.

What if I don’t believe in God (or I’m not sure)?
You are always welcome to join us and participate however you feel comfortable.  We promise not to preach at you, we’ll answer your questions as honestly as we can, and we’ll listen to your perspective, even—or especially—when it challenges ours.

What about LGBTQ people?
Brent House has a long tradition of welcoming and including people of all sexual orientations and identities just as they are.

Does Brent House have internet?
Yes! We have wireless internet and it gets used quite frequently.

How can I get involved?
We are always looking for volunteers to cook and participate in the service. If you have something else that you want to do, do it! Speak to the chaplain, intern, or one of the peer ministers and they can give you hand recruiting volunteers and getting the resources you need.

How can I support Brent House?
You can donate to Brent House here. We’re also listed on Amazon Smiles!
